Berthoud High School The design of the Berthoud STEM program prepares you for post-secondary workforce skills and education in science, mathematics, engineering, or technology. This program encourages you to stretch your accomplishments in an academic environment of rigorous coursework where you can thrive and excel. Additionally, you will graduate from Berthoud High School with a differentiated designation in STEM and a senior mentorship experience. The STEM program will enrich your high school experiences as you engage in special field trips to universities and companies, and competitions. Guest speakers and seminars will expose you to exciting and financially rewarding career possibilities. The STEM program has formed unique partnerships with professionals such as National Jewish Hospital in Denver, American Institute Mathematics in Palo Alto, California, and UCAR in Boulder. These fine organizations and others are willing to partner with and provide seniors in the program with invaluable mentorships involving real world, cutting edge research. Our small school creates an environment where teachers and counselors get to know you personally and help you make this a gratifying and successful experience. The partnerships formed with staff, students, parents, businesses and research institutions help to find you a mentorship placement that fits well with your interests and career goals. Additionally, your college and scholarship applications are enhanced by your mentorship experience. There is space for 25 incoming freshmen for the 2011-1012 school year. Your completed application must be submitted by December 10, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Late applications will not be considered. This can truly be a gratifying experience! We look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely, STEM coordinators
